Why The Triumph Tiger?
Why the Triumph Tiger? A question I am asked very often, followed by how much it costs and then a suggestion of - You could have bought a SUV with that money 🤦🏻♂️
For me motorcycling has always been about going the distance and seeing new places, never about how fast can I go. After owning Rudra (RE Thunderbird) for few years and riding across the country, I figured touring was my genre of motorcycling and a capable tourer is just what I wanted to add to my garage. Though I must admit, riding Karma (Tiger) for 1.5years now, I do crave for speed at times. Hopefully I'll add a pocket rocket (🚀3 🙈) sometime down the line just to satisfy the urge.
Looking back, I do have few reasons as to why I bought the Triumph Tiger 800 XCX, and there you go:
I strongly recommend memorising the 3rd reason- that cuts the clutter and you know it's the one 😍
Reason 1
It's a 3 in 1 motorcycle
Unlike the 99999 games in 1 video game cassettes (90's kids would relate), the Triumph Tiger is an absolute all rounder
-
Sports Bike Genes - The tripple engine, can make you fly
-
Off Roader - Be it the might Himalayas or the Indian road, it can sail through it all
-
Tourer - All day riding comfort combined with accessories that allow you to carry your home along
Reason 2
The Brand - Triumph and their Sales figures in India
Triumph has been selling motorcycles in India since 2013 (if I am not wrong) their sales figures and history sort of gave me confidence that the brand is here to stay. Moreover the following reasons convinced me in getting an expensive motorcycle
-
Quality & Reliability - After growing up with and owning a Royal Enfield's for the longest time, the one thing I was looking forward in my next motorcycle was quality. With the Tiger I didn't have to think twice before hitting the highway, just fill it shut it and keep riding it. With the XCX (off-road focused, spoked rims) I was worried about one thing - Punctures, very recently I got over with that fear too :)
-
Sales Figures - The sales figures of Triumph in India only kept increasing, which meant the availability of spares, service should be good and the company would treat the Indian customers well.
Reason 3
The motorcycle choose me
I still remember the first time I saw a Triumph Tiger in flesh, it was in Feb 2016 at the Indian AutoExpo in the BikersForGood stall. I was in aww of the motorcycle, it screamed Quality & Capability and I knew my next motorcycle had to be a Triumph Tiger.
There is this thing people say in the Automotive World and I can totally agree with it -
"If you don't look back at your Car/Motorcycle after you park, you probably bought the wrong one"
30th of September 2019 - Karma came home
I added a little more happiness to life, don't believe me? watch the video
🏍 As they say - Money can't buy happiness, but it can get you a Motorcycle...that is pretty much the same
